Zen tangle

This is my first zentangle. Took about 2 hours to complete. Thinking it will be a good 4th or 5th grade lesson. Definitely something you can do in secondary too. The possibilities of zen tangles are endless and they can be as easy or detailed as you want it.

Two Point Perspective

This is always a challenge.  I was lucky to have an ELMO (document camera) when teaching this lesson. I think it would be difficult to teach without the document camera because they really need to see it being drawn step by step. Students always have trouble keeping the ruler on the point when creating lines.  They always want to try and "eye ball it".  This lesson took awhile to do and we used watercolor pencils as our medium. 

Bean Masks

I learned this lesson from a colleague she made a few of her own in her house and hung them in her living room.  I've done this project with students in 4th-7th grade and they all have a great time.  I have been told that this is one of their favorite projects.

Weaving Project

I have done this weaving project in a few different variations and different grades.  I've used watercolors and crayons depending on what I have handy.  Some of the students chose the colors of the rainbow and put them in order ROYGBIV.  Some of my students chose different color combinations.  You could also do the lesson when teaching warm and cool colors.
